Last Thursday Brady’s Wine Warehouse hosted Made In Mind for an amazing food and wine pairing tutorial. It was so informative and they were SO friendly! We got to try 8 different wines and had representative foods for pairing purposes like lemon juice for tart, chili sauce for spicy, whipped cream for sweet, arugula for bitter, peanuts for salty, and a couple of regional cheeses.
We started with a brief introduction of how to taste and evaluate wine, and identify its relevant properties: alcohol, acid, sugar, tannin, oak, body. The tried each wine as it was described to us with the representative foods so we could see for ourselves which flavors went with which wines. Everyone went home with extremely useful pairing cheatsheets and they were kind enough to answer all of our questions.
